Who can attend
This mission trip is open to any adult 18 years old (out of high school) and older. This is a mission trip so it will be treated as such and it’s going to be a great trip!
What does the cost include
The cost includes your meals for the trip, excluding dinner on Friday night. We will be eating lunch and dinner on Thursday; breakfast and lunch on Friday; and breakfast and lunch on Saturday at Riverbend.
You can pay online via Pushpay (under “Fund”, select Adult Mission Trip), Check (made out to South Oaks Baptist Church, attn: Adult Mission Trip).
We will be staying in the Outpost Area in the Teepee, Wagons, and/or Barracks. You will need to bring your bedding for a twin sized mattress.
The showers are located in the Turret and will require you to walk a short distance for a shower. It will be a good idea to bring shower shoes with you, think of it like going back to Children’s or Youth Camp!
What to bring
You will want to bring your bedding, toiletries, shower shoes, refillable water bottle, working clothes, work gloves, eye protection, some tools (read under tasks for assignments), casual clothes, pillow, towel, card games, board games. There is a place to fish if you want to bring your fishing pole. There are also recreation opportunities so pack accordingly.
Since this is an adult mission trip, each adult will be responsible for their own transportation. If you wish to carpool to Riverbend on Thursday morning, please meet at the church at 7:30 am on Thursday morning.
Please check back for up-to-date information on work projects. This is a mission trip where a group of us will be performing manual labor, organization, cleaning… please be flexible in what Riverbend Retreat Center has lined up for us to do. Depending on the projects we may or may not need tools. Riverbend will provide most tools needed for this mission project.
